Grapes
The Cesanese is the typical red grape of Olevano Romano zone, 60km SE from Rome, Lazio. There’re two types of this grape: Cesanese Comune and Cesanese di Affile, where Affile is a little town near Olevano Romano. With these grapes, winegrowers of Lazio produce two wines: Cesanese di Olevano Romano DOC and Cesanese del Piglio DOCG; Piglio is another little town of this wine’s zone. Cesanese is a well known grape since Roman Eve, perhaps its name get from the city of Cesano, 40 km N from Rome and could had to been imported in Lazio from ancients Etruscan people.
Cesanese Comune (common Cesanese) has aa great production volume in this zone, Cesanese del Piglio is more delicate in production and it produces wines with more structure.
Disciplinary
The DOC Cesanese di Olevano Romano, or simply Olevano Romano, has been created in 1973. These wines have to contain not less than 85% of Cesanese Comune or Cesanese di Affile.

Notes
Tasting
Red ruby with garnet reflections; it smells small berries, delicate iron notes, cinchona and aromatic herbs. It tastes really fresh and balanced, good tannic presence that blends with the mineral notes.
Pairings
Pasta with meat sauce, roasted and grilled meat, aged cheese. Very good with stewed red meat and little game.

Quattrocieli - ‘Iocu’ Catarratto Terre Siciliane IGT 2019
Grapes
Catarratto is a white grape of Sicily, cultivated mostly in Alcamo and Marsala. It’s an old grape, known since XVI century; it there exists four types of Catarratto, but only two are catalogued as official, the Catarratto Bianco Lucido (shiny white) and Catarratto Bianco Comune (common white).

Tasting
The name ‘Jocu’ is a dialectal name meaning ‘gioco’, ‘kid play’.
Intense straw yellow with golden reflections; fresh and fruity nose, peach and pear with delicate notes of orange blossom and jasmine. On the palate it is fruity with hints of white pulp fruit and citrus notes. Good body.
